Ljubljana Urban Region Film Wins Special Jury Award in Zagreb
The Regional Development Agency of the Ljubljana Urban Region (RRA LUR) has received the Special Jury Award at the Zagreb Tourfilm Festival 2026 for its promotional film Ljubljana Urban Region – Where Ideas Come to Life. Entered in the Region Promotion category, the film impressed an international jury of tourism and audiovisual professionals, who evaluated the entries based on storytelling, creativity, technical excellence and effectiveness in destination promotion.
Created by RRA LUR to mark its 25th anniversary, the film tells a story of ideas – from their first spark to their realization. It connects a 5,000-year legacy of innovation with the vibrant present of the Ljubljana Urban Region, a place of exceptional natural beauty, high quality of life and abundant opportunities.
“Following our promotional film’s selection as a finalist at the international US International Awards, we are delighted that its story has now also impressed the international jury at the festival in neighbouring Zagreb. Through the film, we wanted to show that the Ljubljana Urban Region is not only an attractive destination, but above all a place of knowledge, creativity and collaboration, where ideas turn into real opportunities,” said Lilijana Madjar, MSc, Director of RRA LUR.
The Zagreb Tourfilm Festival is part of the CIFFT Circuit, an international network connecting the world’s leading tourism film festivals.
