ECOLE Project Partners Visit Siemens Technopark near Passau, DE

In mid-May, the picturesque town of Ruhstorf an der Rott, near Passau, Germany, hosted the ECOLE project partnership and its stakeholders, all working together to advance circular economy practices in industrial zones across the Alpine region. The event was organized by the Technologie-Zentrum Energie (Research centre of Landshut University of Applied Sciences) as one of the project partner and featured a range of activities focused on circular progress in industry and the innovations driving it. A highlight of the event was an inspiring visit to the Siemens Technopark.

On May 16, 2025, a comprehensive stakeholder meeting took place, where project partners shared detailed updates on their progress within the ECOLE project. The intense exchange of insights was accompanied by a discussion on key challenges, particularly the importance of effective communication with stakeholders within industrial parks and strategies to enhance their motivation for participation and the transformation of their business models to funcion more sustainably. The meeting also laid the groundwork for future actions.

The following day, project partners and accompanying stakeholders visited the Siemens Technopark. Participants gained firsthand insight into the region’s industrial landscape, which plays a vital role in its economic development. Known for its cutting-edge facilities and innovative environment, the Siemens Technopark left quite an impression on visitors. The park serves as a testament to the region’s commitment to technological advancement and support for industries that drive innovation. Attendees received an in-depth overview of the park’s operations, modern infrastructure, and some of the ongoing and future projects. The visit not only showcased the region’s industrial capabilities but also highlighted opportunities for future collaborations.

The successful event in Ruhstorf an der Rott is a prime example of how collaboration and open dialogue can drive progress. Bringing together stakeholders from different sectors significantly accelerates the achievement of project goals and strengthens connections between industry and other key sectors.
