Project GeneH featured at the charity concert Viljem Julijan for children with rare diseases
On 9 October 2025, the Grand Charity Concert Viljem Julijan for Children with Rare Genetic Diseases filled the Cankarjev dom concert hall in Ljubljana once again. More than 500 visitors and numerous performers came together in support of children with rare diseases, raising a record-breaking €96,700, which will be donated to families of children in need.
At the event, visitors could also learn more about the GeneH project, in which the Regional Development Agency of the Ljubljana Urban Region (RRA LUR) is a proud partner. GeneH brings together European research institutions, healthcare professionals, industry, policy-makers and civil society with a shared goal — to accelerate the development and accessibility of gene therapies for rare diseases.
Participating in such events is an important step towards raising awareness of rare diseases and an opportunity to highlight the importance of research, innovation and community engagement. What truly sets GeneH apart from many other innovation projects in healthcare is the active involvement of patients, parents, doctors, researchers and supporters — those directly facing these challenges.
We invite everyone interested in advances in the field of rare genetic diseases to follow the progress of the GeneH project [here].
