RRA LUR in a Mentoring Role for Sustainable Mobility – study Visit in Berane and TERRAIN Project Meeting

  • 26. 3. 2026

As part of the TERRAIN – Twinning and Engagement in net-zero tRansport tRAnsItioN project, the third study visit took place in Berane, Montenegro, in March 2026, accompanied by the fourth project meeting. The event brought together project partners from across the Adriatic-Ionian region to review progress and exchange knowledge on sustainable mobility.

The project meeting focused on the advancement of key activities, particularly the development of action plans, implementation of pilot actions, and methodologies for monitoring the transition to net-zero urban mobility. Partners also discussed the next steps of the project and further strengthened cooperation among participating regions.

The following day, the study visit provided an on-site insight into the current mobility situation in Berane. The Regional Development Agency of the Ljubljana Urban Region (RRA LUR) participated as a mentor, as it plays a mentoring role within the TERRAIN project, supporting partner regions in their transition towards sustainable mobility. During the visit, participants explored key locations and projects, including the planned redevelopment of the bus station, regional development initiatives, and EU-funded infrastructure, gaining a deeper understanding of local challenges and opportunities.

The visit once again highlighted the importance of study visits as a tool for direct knowledge exchange, with the mentoring role of RRA LUR contributing to the development of practical, locally adapted solutions for a sustainable and low-carbon mobility transition in the region.
