E-mobility Test in the Municipality of Dobrova – Polhov Gradec within the TERRAIN Project and Pilot Activities
Yesterday, on 22 September, the final day of the European Mobility Week – World car free day, we carried out pilot activities of the TERRAIN Ipa Adrion project in cooperation with the Municipality of Dobrova – Polhov Gradec, the company Nomago, and the Regional Mobility Centre. At the Dobrova – Polhov Gradec location, participants tested and tried out e-mobility, more specifically micromobility with Nomago Bikes e-bikes.
Fast and efficient
City bikes are one of the fastest and most efficient forms of public transport. By cycling, you can avoid traffic congestion, while departure and arrival times are entirely up to you.
Reducing CO₂ emissions
By choosing a bike, you produce 5 times fewer carbon emissions compared to public transport and as much as 10 times fewer than by car. This way, you significantly contribute to reducing your carbon footprint.
Affordable
Using the Nomago Bikes system is very affordable. Parking and servicing are free of charge, as they are provided by Nomago. A single registration gives you access to 17 municipalities in Slovenia and more than 300 locations across 20 European countries.
Easy to use
Once registered, the system is very easy to use – simply hop on a bike and start pedaling. The electric drive reduces the effort needed and makes longer trips more accessible. The Nomago Bikes network connects hidden corners across 19 municipalities in Slovenia, with more than 600 bikes available. In the Municipality of Dobrova – Polhov Gradec, the system is currently available at the P+R location, and further expansion is already planned.
Technical specifications
Nomago Bikes e-bikes are Pedelec type, providing pedal assistance with an electric motor up to 25 km/h. The motor is integrated into the central part of the bike, while the battery is hidden in the frame and easily accessible for service. The range per charge is between 60 and 100 km, depending on conditions. Each bike is equipped with a contactless NFC smart card reader and a multi-level battery indicator. The system is also integrated with public transport smart cards and other card applications (Urbana, IJPP).
Participant feedback
During the event, we asked participants about their satisfaction with the system, whether they felt their travel time would be reduced compared to using a car or public transport, and we awarded them with three one-month Nomago Bikes subscriptions to the Nomago Bikes system. We are already looking forward to the first user feedback and to further activities within the TERRAIN project.
