From Idea to Users – the Summer Academy “Cities of the Future through Service Innovations” opens its doors
The CREA Summer Academy “Cities Of The Future Through Service Innovation” opened its doors in Ljubljana – European Green Capital 2016 – on Monday, 13 July 2015.
Organised by the Regional Development Agency of the Ljubljana Urban Region (RRA LUR) and the University of Ljubljana Faculty of Computer and Information Science, the ten-day Summer Academy will give 24 young entrepreneurs from Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Italy, guided by experienced mentors, the opportunity to address challenges in the fields of mobility, pollution, food supply and energy efficiency, health challenges connected to the ageing population, and other social or environmental challenges.
Over the course of two weeks, the Summer Academy participants will learn about creative approaches to the development of ideas, test and perfect their own business ideas in interdisciplinary teams, develop a business model and communication plan, explore funding opportunities and, finally, present their progress to an expert panel. The best participants will also have the chance to present their idea to an international public and potential investors at a business ideas contest in October as part of the ICT 2015 Innovate, Connect, Transform conference in Lisbon.
